It's a blog. It's a drink. It's a blink. It's Heath Buckmaster.
Drink
The Buckmaster Flash. It’s not just a blog, it’s also a drink!
Here are the basics…

One plus One = Awesome
First we start with premium champagne or sparkling wine. I prefer Domaine Chandon for most of my sparkling needs, but I will say that you can get some really nice Brut’s just about anywhere. Chandon is a local company in Napa Valley and I like to support them. You’ll want to fill your glass to approximately 50% with champagne.
Second we add in your favourite port. You might be a fan of Six Grapes (one of my suggested ports), or something that has aged for decades. This delightful drink can be made with either ruby or tawny port as is your preference. Having tried it both ways (many times), I can tell you that I like them both. Do what works for you. Fill the flute with 50% port.
You have now created the Buckmaster Flash. There are many variations on the theme – alternating styles and flavours of champagne, and trying many types of port. You can also experiment with different %’s of each for a sweeter or more dry experience. If you’re feeling really wild you can put the port in first then fill with champagne – just be careful not to overflow your flute.
Variations that are not part of the Buckmaster Flash canon include: champagne and chambord, white wine and port, champagne and merlot, etc. I take no responsibility for your use of those “other” combinations.
Please enjoy your Buckmaster Flash, and be sure to tell your friends about this popular drink created right here in Sacramento, California.
