Affairs of State 2010.

It’s become an annual tradition for us to go to the State Fair at least one time when it’s in town. This year we only had a short time to get there because they not only moved it ahead a month, but the duration has been shortened to a mere 3 weeks.
Budget crisis anyone?
Unfortunately it was not only the timing of the fair that was reduced this year, it was also the quantity and quality of the rides. A warning for those of you buying tickets or wristbands – there are very few rides this year that are worth the More >
Fine Dining and Cats
Aug 23rd
On the 20th, David celebrated his 41st birthday. Actually he has been mildly celebrating the entire month of August, but the 20th is the real day in question.
Many months ago I had made plans for us to go see Cats at the Music Circus. He knew about it, no surprise there because I specifically asked if he wanted to go on his birthday evening. But for dinner we were having a hard time coming up with a brand new place to go.

Activists in Sacramento were among the groups speaking up at the state capitol Saturday morning.
There was also a pride party at the city’s Southside Park. [Article syndicated on MSNBC]
Yep. That’s it. 40 words. I think KCRA is taking this whole More >
Sacramento Jazz Jubilee 2009
May 24th
David and I just got home from the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. What a great day, and special thanks to KVIE for the free tickets!!
This event is always a blast, and this year was no different. Taking place in the Old Sacramento “zone” (and additional activities over at the convention center this year), the Jazz music hits Sacramento with a vengeance. Vendors are spread across the landscape, music pours out from tents that blanket the parking lots and open spaces, and even the saloon in the Delta King gets a taste of up and coming jazz greats.
As soon as we arrived More >
